In laboratories worldwide, the daily basics of blood banking are practiced and expanded on. In this session, basic blood bank topics will be presented in a case study format to cover the knowledge outlined in certifying exam content for Blood Banking technologist (BB), Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB), and Transfusion Medicine physician. The case study discussions will encourage the participant in the areas of competency and challenge in more complex and difficult areas. The question-and-answer approach and further application of best practice options allow the participant to gain “ultimate” blood bank knowledge.
